AQUAVET ® III is a professional education program of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. This program was created to provide practical and specific training to veterinary students interested in developing skills and medical knowledge in aquatic animals under human care. In the third week, the group moves to the University of Georgia, where they learn techniques of endoscopy and surgery in reptiles and fish. The fourth and fifth week of the course takes place at Dolphinaris Cancun, Mexico; at this stage, participants delve into the complex world of marine mammals medicine, especially of dolphins. The group has the opportunity to learn diagnostic techniques such as ultrasound, endoscopy and clinical pathology laboratory. Also, diverse topics such as breeding, feeding, care and conservation of wildlife specimens and their habitat are addressed. The course is highly competitive, since it only accepts 8 participants.

Dolphinaris hosts the program since 2012, the year of its inception. It was chosen among several national and international companies to host the program in terms of dolphin medicine, since it has the highest standards in the care and maintenance of these species.
